A fair deal.

We reward customers for their loyalty and give them a fair deal.

Better experience all round.

We’ve created a suite of tools – including the Powershop app – that means customers can pay on the go, keep an eye on their half hourly usage (you’ll need a smart meter for this – we can help with that too), and a bunch of other cool things. And if you ever have to get in touch with us, you can chat to our super friendly team on the phone, or online through our social media pages. We’re always here to help.

Solar Energy FAQs

Solar Feed-in Tariff and solar rates
The total value of a customer’s export solar generation will appear as a credit in their Powershop account once a month and can be used to purchase power in the Shop. This will be included in the monthly Powershop bill and available for use once the review has been issued.
Generally, providing we have a verified read from a meter, solar customers can request to be refunded for the credit in their account from solar generation at any time. To apply for a refund, solar customers can call us on 1800 462 668 or email us at info@powershop.com.au.
Yes. To receive the Power Saver discount and other discount Powerpacks, solar customers need to purchase sufficient Powerpacks on time to cover their monthly usage. If customers don’t purchase any discounted Powerpacks, we will automatically purchase the Auto Pay pack at bill time.
Solar customers pay the same rates and receive the same discounts as non-solar customers. Remember, our discounts apply to the whole bill; usage and daily charges. To view Powershop’s prices click here.
Congrats on your new solar system! So we can make sure you’re all good to receive your feed-in tariff, give us a call on 1800 462 668.
Solar metering
Yes, we can service customers with basic meters. Bills will be based on estimated readings in between actual quarterly meter reads from your meter. You can also get a free (in most cases) smart meter from us! Head here and fill out the form.
Powershop does support solar installations that are configured with a Gross Meter in NSW. Gross Metering does not apply in South East Queensland, Victoria or South Australia.
Net Metering allows solar customers to be paid for any excess generation that has not been consumed in the household first. Gross Metering means all of the solar generation is exported straight to the grid and solar customers are paid for all of their solar generation.
Yes. Customers can manually enter meter usage reads themselves.
Yes. Powershop customers with basic meters can enter their own feed-in reads. Until we’ve got a verified reading for your feed-in meter we’re not able to pay you for your feed-in. So you can get your rebate sooner, we recommend looking into getting a free (in most cases) smart meter. Read more here.
Data and insights
Details of feed-in and export generation can be found on the monthly Powershop bill email under “Usage.” This amount is based on either a verified read from your meter, or for customers with basic meters, estimation. Powershop will also issue a credit note detailing your solar rebate amount. You can also find detailed info on your solar export in the Feed-in Patterns in your online account here, and under the solar insights tab on the Powershop app.
Solar customers with smart meters can view their consumption and export under the Usage section of their online account. When the solar installation is generating and fully powering the home the Solar Heat Map will appear black (as usage during this time does not register on your smart meter). You can also find your daily and half hourly export under the solar insights tab of the Powershop app.

Monthly Specials are only available a few times a month, so you have to be quick to get them. They’re a bigger discount than the Power Saver on usually about a day’s worth of usage. Follow us on social media so you don’t miss out on these extra special savings.

Monthly Specials

We like to throw in a saving surprise a couple of times a month for our customers. Only available for a limited time and for a limited amount of energy.

How to use

Take a look at how much you spend per day on energy via the app or your online account. Then calculate how many days of energy you’d like the Powerpack to cover. For example, if you’re wanting to cover a week’s worth of power and you’re using about $4 per day, you’ll want to buy $28 worth of the Powerpack (plus the relevant GreenPower premium). This Powerpack also gives you the flexibility to buy as much or as little as you want.

Green Power Saver

The GreenPower Saver is – as its name suggests – a little bit greener than the regular Power Saver. It will still save you off your Auto Pay rates, and includes an 5.5c premium for every kWh of power it covers.

How to use

Take a look at how much you spend per day on energy via the app or your online account. Then calculate how many days of energy you’d like the Powerpack to cover. For example, if you’re wanting to cover a week’s worth of power and you’re using about $4 per day, you’ll want to buy $28 worth of the Powerpack (plus the relevant premium). This Powerpack also gives you the flexibility to buy as much or as little as you want.

Your Community Energy

Want to save and contribute to community renewable energy projects? Then this Powerpack is for you! Not only will you save off your Auto Pay rate you'll also contribute a 6.6c/kWh premium which is used to fund community renewable energy projects around the country (and soon, the world).

How to use

Take a look at how much we’re estimating this pack will cost you via our app or online account. If we’re estimating that you’ll be using about $4 per day next month and the Future Pack is worth five days of energy, it’ll cost you about $20. You can get a max of two packs each month.

Future Packs

Hop into a savings time machine by grabbing a Future Pack (or two). Future Packs make it super easy to save on a few days' worth of power to cover your usage for the next month or the month after.

How to use

Take a look at how much we’re estimating this pack will cost you via our app or online account. If we’re estimating that you’ll be using about $4 per day for the month this Super Future Pack covers, and the pack is worth seven days of energy, it’ll cost you about $28.

Super Future Packs

You can't predict the future, but at least you can save big off our Auto Pay rates. Just charge up with a Super Future Pack and get the biggest discount possible! Plus the further in the past you buy them, the more future savings you score!

How to use

If you don’t top up your account in full at the end of your billing period with one of the discounted Powerpacks, we use the Auto Pay pack to automatically cover any shortfall. So if you’re using about $4 per day and you’re behind by two days at bill time, it will cost you about $8. Want to save more? The Mega, Saver and Future Powerpacks will put more dollars back in your pocket.

Auto Pay

This Powerpack gives you our great default rate which we charge automatically at the end of your billing period if you haven’t bought any of the discounted Powerpacks available to you.
