Brand Campaign Carbon Offset Statement of Intent

Powershop Australia (Powershop) is a subsidiary of Meridian Energy Limited (Meridian), Australasia’s largest 100% renewable generator.

Powershop measures and manages its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with the objective of understanding, transparently disclosing and reducing the carbon footprint of its operations. Powershop is focused on demonstrating the best practice for minimising its GHG footprint.

One such initiative is to launch a brand campaign that is reflective of Powershop’s values to go above and beyond the minimum standard for emissions reduction. Powershop has an ongoing commitment to measure and manage all its carbon emissions, while also aiming to reduce these wherever possible.

We intend to carbon offset our direct emissions as a result from the campaign “Power you can be proud of” specifically by offsetting any emissions directly attributable to OoH! Media (digital out of home billboards), as well as radio advertising purchased and produced through Southern Cross Austereo.

We have determined the emissions to be offset by applying best practice methods as set out by the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS). Note, while we have not applied for formal accreditation for this specific campaign, Powershop currently has a product accreditation with NCOS.
