Power It Forward raises $185,000 for bushfire impacted customers

On 10 January this year, we launched the Power It Forward Powerpack allowing our customers to support Powershoppers affected by the bushfires simply by purchasing power.

We set an ambitious target of $150,000 which we hoped would be achieved by the end of March.

We were blown away by the generosity of our customers!

In only 35 days, 12,500 Powershoppers raised $165,000 through the Power It Forward Powerpack. Powershop initially kick-started this fund with $20,000 bringing our grand total to $185,000!

This will go directly towards the electricity bills of Powershop customers across 265 postcodes that have been impacted by the bushfires. Now that’s power to be very proud of.

What's next?

From today the Power It Forward Powepack will no longer be available in the shop to purchase. But this doesn’t mean that our support for affected people, communities, habitat and wildlife stops here.

As our nation continues to work together through the aftermath of the bushfires, we’ll be finding ways that we can support in the long term. We’ll keep you posted.
