What are the different types of panels?

Solar topic:

There are a number of different options available when selecting solar panels for your home. Though all types convert sunlight into electricity via solar cells, there are some important differences which can influence the cost and efficiency of your system.

Monocrystalline panels

Consist of a single sheet of thinly sliced silicon crystal. These cells offer a great level of efficiency but can be demanding to manufacture and are often more costly to produce.

Polycrystalline panels

Are a silicon cell made from multiple crystals. These cells are easier to manufacture and generally cost less to purchase, however, most offer slightly lower performance than monocrystalline panels.
