Solar topic: Rates and tariffs
It takes more than just us to get power to your property. There’s a whole supply chain and everyone’s responsible for doing their bit. This means that the pricing you see on your bill is made up of a few different elements.
Usage charges – this covers the electricity you’ve actually used.
Daily supply charge – this is a charge determined by your distributor that covers the management of the poles and wires that get electricity to your property.
GST – GST is applied to your usage and daily supply charge.
Premiums – these are any premiums you’ve decided to pay on top of your usage charges, such as GreenPower. If you don’t choose to pay a premium, you won’t get charged one.
Feed-in Tariff – this is the amount we pay you for every kWh your solar system exports to the grid.
It might seem complex when you first look at your bill, but we work hard to be as transparent about pricing as possible, the more info the better!
If you ever have questions about your pricing or rates, our help centre has a whole section on prices and rates. Otherwise, our friendly call-centre staff would love to hear from you.
You can see an in-depth breakdown of your rates, and find your solar Feed-in Tariff using our rates tool.
