How do Feed-in Tariffs work?

Solar topic:

When your household uses less power than your solar panels generate, the excess power is exported to the electricity grid (how generous of you!). Your solar inverter records what’s being exported, and sends that to your retailer. Your retailer then pays you for the energy you exported.

Solar Feed-in Tariffs range in value, but in general you’re better off using the solar energy your panels are generating instead of exporting it.

Our feed in tariffs are higher than the government mandated minimum, and our solar customers enjoy the same great rates as non-solar customers.
